UK Judge Approves Lawsuits via NFT Airdrop
Not sure who stole your cryptocurrency? You can now sue them using a blockchain if you live in the United Kingdom.
Legal documents can now be served to people and businesses using NFTs, according to a U.K. court decision.
A court in the United Kingdom last month granted the firm Giambrone & Partners LLP permission to serve legal proceedings on an anonymous individual via an NFT airdrop sent to the individual's crypto wallet.
Ethereum Deploys One of The Last Tests Before the Merge
Another shadow fork of the blockchain went live today to test a particular feature before switching to proof of stake.
This morning, the blockchain's ninth shadow fork went live 15 hours ahead of schedule. Shadow forks, such as today's, practice making one or two specific changes that will occur during the Merge.
Before the Merge can take place, only one major test on the Goerli testnet needs to be completed. That test is scheduled for next month.
UN Recommends Developing Nations Ban Bitcoin Ads and Control Crypto Wallets
The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) outlined the drawbacks posed to these countries by cryptocurrencies in the document titled "All that glitters is not gold,"
Governments should "make the usage of cryptocurrencies less attractive" by taxing transactions made with the technology and demanding the registration of cryptocurrency exchanges and digital wallets.
Additionally, it proposed prohibiting financial institutions from owning digital assets and from providing customers with services relating to cryptocurrencies.
The conference also recommended that developing countries limit or forbid cryptocurrency companies from advertising in public spaces or on social media platforms.
