Crypto.com Makes a $10.5 Million Typo
This story goes back to May 2021 and ends up costing Crypto.com $10.5M so Warm up your Biryani and get ready to read, Trust us this is a good one!
A woman contacted Crypto.com to apply for a $100 refund
The accountant instead of entering “100” into the payment field accidentally entered an account number😂
The woman was expecting to receive $100 but got $10,474,143 instead!
The best part? Crypto.com did not know about this costly error for 7 months!🤦🏻
They found out thanks to an end-of-year audit.
When they went to acquire the funds, they discovered that the money had disappeared. Not surprised, what were they expecting?
The woman appreciated the gift from the Crypto Gods and spent the money. She handed her daughter $500k and decided to buy her sister a $1.4 million luxury mansion too.
So, what's next? Crypto.com has filed a lawsuit, demanding that the woman repay the funds and her sister sell the house.
This week, neither sister appeared in court, and it appears that they are on the run.
Ticketmaster Partners With Dapper Labs
NFTs have now entered the ticketing space too…as Ticketmaster partners with Dapper Labs.
Ticketmaster sells 500 million tickets per year, so this might be huge,
and below are the highlights you should know:
The ticketing giant has integrated a wallet feature marketplace into its website.
Event organizers will be able to issue NFTs before, during, and after live events.
Users can share, trade, and view the NFTs they earn.
Previously, Ticket master had minted 70,000 virtual commemorative ticket NFTs for Super Bowl LVI.
The downside? Because these NFTs are primarily collectibles, you will still require a valid ticket. :(
