What is Forex?
The foreign exchange market – also known as forex or FX – is the world’s most traded market. (yeah, we’re pretty late to it…)
Forex trading is simply the buying and selling of global currencies and commodities.
It’s how people, businesses, and governments exchange money for goods, services, or travel.
Every time you exchange cash for a trip or buy something in another currency, you're trading Forex.
According to the Bank for International Settlements, global forex trading in 2022 averaged over $7.5 trillion each day, the entire Crypto market cap is $3 trillion.
To put that into context, trading on the stock market averages around $553 billion each month.
This might seem like a lot, but it is just 7% of the total volume seen in FX.
And now for the most important question in YOUR mind:
Is Forex Trading Halal?
The answer is… YES!
According to Ulama like Zakir Naik—Muslims can trade Forex, but only if it aligns with Islamic finance principles (Sharia law).
That means avoiding Riba (interest), Gharar (uncertainty), and Maysir (gambling).
Swap-free accounts, also known as Islamic Forex accounts, are specifically designed for this purpose.
A swap-free account is a Sharia-compliant trading account that eliminates overnight interest (riba). It allows traders to hold positions without earning or paying interest, making it halal for Muslim traders.
