So, last week we left things kinda rocky
I told you to message the recruiter
Next thing you know, I am stopping you from doing so
I know I must have angered you!
But it was meant to serve as a lesson to those who didn’t listen
They didn’t listen and send the message right away
And after a week of reading this email, they will realize why they didn’t get any response!
Simply put, your profile is not hot enough.
Today I am going to talk about:
What to post on LinkedIn?
The Dos and Donts of Posting?
Why to post?
How do you make it hot enough to attract recruiters?
One word. POST
Post some content on your LinkedIn account.
You specialize in Accounts, you specialize in Dentistry, you’re a CSS champ
Whatever is it that you do,
Share your story, share your knowledge, spread some value.
For example,
I attended an Event attended by Miftah Ismail who spoke about the current economic crisis of Pakistan and I went ahead wrote a YouTube Script about it.
Because I knew people would benefit from it.
Simply put, post the knowledge people can benefit from.
So, I guess we have touched base with What should you post?
Next area of concern would be…
How to post and the Dos’s and Dont’s?
Get your pencils out or copy paste this in your notes and PIN IT!
You need to post 3 times a week:
Post 1: A well written post with a throat-grabbing hook
Post 2: A post with your selfie (please don’t turn it into Instagram, post pictures that actually relate to the caption!)
Post 3: A gif or mini video with a nice hook
What not to do?
And before I hop into another topic, you better not assume that your connections are literally just waiting around for you to post something so they can engage
So, keep your posts brief and digestible.
Look if you think you need a long post then make sure you are using no more than 1 liner to explain something.
What to do?
Here’s a trick I learned to post one-liners
Treat every sentence of your LinkedIn post like a hook
Every preceding sentence is going to propel the reader to read the succeeding sentence
Here’s a quick tutorial (wait for it to load)
or follow these 7 steps…
For this, open MS Excel
Stick to one column and expand it a little, just enough that it fits 1 line as per our smartphones.
You have the story on your mind
Just start from second row of the column and write how you’re going to begin telling your story
Make sure every sentence fits into that single cell and doesn’t spread to the other column
Keep entering and keep writing successive lines, treating them as hooks!
Lastly, go back to your first row, and write a compelling hook at the end.
That’s what I do when I send you these emails!
So, now you’re done with the post, congrats!
I hate to do this again, there’s still one thing you need to do…
30 Minutes - In and Out
What does this mean?
Well, say your connections/Audience on LinkedIn are mostly active at 5 pm.
Have your post ready by 4.30 pm
And utilize the time between 4.30 to 5.00 pm replying to the comments from your previous post
Don’t be cocky by leaving the comments on your previous post un-responded.
Respect those who engage, so they engage more
This is 30 - In
At 5 pm you finally posted
Now from 5.00 to 5.30 pm you are going to engage with people’s content from relevant fields
By engage I don’t mean simply liking and commenting CFBR, Nice share deer, etc.
What you need to do is really read through their posts and comment your genuine responses.
Make it real, make it authentic!
If you are going to engage with their content, they’re going to engage with yours
That’s simple networking.
This is 30 - out!
Remember the F4F on Instagram (Follow for follow back!) Well this is just part 2.
But you might have a question as to..
Why do I need to post and to get recruited?
If you post and engage with other people’s content
Your network is strong and your personal branding is top notch
And if a strong networking brand such as yourself joins the firm
They know your personal brand is going to add value in their brand!
After you have had such successful post experiences that your Profile views are kicking and your posts from a month ago are still getting attention
Then you know, you have aced the strategy of posting!
And with your own audience, your recruiter would be way more confident about you.
Now, you may click send on the message I have been preventing you from!
You’re ready to get hired!
Keep posting, keep closing recruiters, and keep building your personal brand!
Lastly, comment down your LinkedIn URLs, I will be more than happy to review your profiles and let you know the weak areas of your profile!
Until then,
